Failsafe Recipe
My first recipe post! If your not the most confident in the kitchen a failsafe recipe is a must have for sure. Mine is a Blueberry and Lemon Drizzle cake, I just can't seem to go wrong with it. It's a Marks&Spencer recipe.
Serves 9.
225g Butter plus extra for greasing
225g golden caster sugar
4 eggs beaten
250g self-raising flour sifted
Finely grated rind of 1 lemon
25g ground almonds
Juice of 1 lemon
200g fresh blueberries
Topping:
Juice of 2 lemons
115g golder caster sugar
55g icing sugar
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease a cake tin and line with baking paper.
Put the butter and caster sugar in a bowl and beat together until light & fluffy. Gradually beat in the eggs, adding a little flour towards the end to prevent curdling. Beat in the lemon rind, then fold in the remaining flour and the almonds with enough lemon juice to give a dropping consistency.
Fold in three quarters of the blueberries and spoon into the prepared tin. Smooth the surface, then scatter the remaining blueberries on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, until firm to the touch and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Meanwhile, make the topping. Put the lemon juice and caster sugar into a bowl and mix together. As soon as the cake comes out the oven, prick it all over with a fine skewer and pour over the lemon mixture. Mix the icing sugar with a little water and drizzle over the cake. Leave in the tin until completely cold, then cut into squares.
Try it! And let me know how you get on...

Not Playing By The Rules!
Hey!
So I have been inspired by Caitlin at
http://woreout.wordpress.com/2011/12/09/black-and-tan/
to bend the "rules" of fashion. Her post was pairing black with tan which I loved! I thought I would try print on print. I mixed print leggins with a print handbag. What do you think?
I love mixing up patterns but I think the rule to stick to for me is don't mix more than two patterns.
Here's the look without the bag...
White top - Zara
Polo neck - Primark
Gillet - River Island
Leggins - New Look
Boots - Primark
Headpiece - Can't remember!
Bag - Stylist Pick

Would love see what fashion rules you break.

MUA Limited Edition Review
Found a Limited Edition MUA nail polish set in Superdrug the other day. Shade 12 & 15. I love these colours, they go on really well and are fast drying. At at only 99p for the set I have to say I am more than impressed. Hope they do more of these in different shades.

Date Night OOTD
So my date night outfit! The shoes I had in my Haul blog in November. I love these shoes, their high but really comfortable. The bag is a new purchase from Stylist Pick. Their website is amazing, you take a quiz so they can identify your style then they email you a lookbook each month with things that they have selected for you based on your personal style. Everything is £39.95 but I got this bag in the sale when they had everything for £15. Check out their website...

I love this bag, its a real statement piece and I can get all my stuff in there!
The treggins are from H&M in the sale online. Their faux leather on the front and stretchy material around the back, they are so comfy! The top and coat are charity shop finds. The perfume of the night is Loverdose by Diesel which you should really go and smell as it is amazing.
I didn't accessorise much because of the patterned top and bag. What do you think of this outfit?
